Kãf-Ha-Ya-’Aĩn- Ṣãd. — Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran Kāf, Hā, Yā, ʿAyn, — Saheeh International ˹This is˺ a reminder of your Lord’s mercy to His servant Zachariah, — Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran [This is] a mention of the mercy of your Lord to His servant Zechariah — Saheeh International when he cried out to his Lord privately, — Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran When he called to his Lord a private call [ supplication]. — Saheeh International ﭟ ﭠ ﭡ ﭢ ﭣ ﭤ ﭥ ﭦ ﭧ ﭨ ﭩ ﭪ ﭫ ﭬ ﭭ saying, “My Lord! Surely my bones have become brittle, and grey hair has spread across my head, but I have never been disappointed in my prayer to You, my Lord! — Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran He said, "My Lord, indeed my bones have weakened, and my head has filled1 with white, and never have I been in my supplication to You, my Lord, unhappy [ disappointed]. — Saheeh International ﭮ ﭯ ﭰ ﭱ ﭲ ﭳ ﭴ ﭵ ﭶ ﭷ ﭸ ﭹ ﭺ ﭻ And I am concerned about ˹the faith of˺ my relatives after me, since my wife is barren. So grant me, by Your grace, an heir, — Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran And indeed, I fear the successors1 after me, and my wife has been barren, so give me from Yourself an heir — Saheeh International who will inherit ˹prophethood˺ from me and the family of Jacob, and make him, O Lord, pleasing ˹to You˺!” — Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran Who will inherit me1 and inherit from the family of Jacob. And make him, my Lord, pleasing [to You]." — Saheeh International ﮆ ﮇ ﮈ ﮉ ﮊ ﮋ ﮌ ﮍ ﮎ ﮏ ﮐ ﮑ ﮒ ˹The angels announced,˺ “O Zachariah! Indeed, We give you the good news of ˹the birth of˺ a son, whose name will be John—a name We have not given to anyone before.” — Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran [He was told],1 "O Zechariah, indeed We give you good tidings of a boy whose name will be John. We have not assigned to any before [this] name." — Saheeh International ﮓ ﮔ ﮕ ﮖ ﮗ ﮘ ﮙ ﮚ ﮛ ﮜ ﮝ ﮞ ﮟ ﮠ ﮡ He wondered, “My Lord! How can I have a son when my wife is barren, and I have become extremely old?” — Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran He said, "My Lord, how will I have a boy when my wife has been barren and I have reached extreme old age?" — Saheeh International ﮢ ﮣ ﮤ ﮥ ﮦ ﮧ ﮨ ﮩ ﮪ ﮫ ﮬ ﮭ ﮮ ﮯ ﮰ An angel replied, “So will it be! Your Lord says, It is easy for Me, just as I created you before, when you were nothing!’” — Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran [An angel] said, "Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, 'It is easy for Me, for I created you before, while you were nothing.'" — Saheeh International ﮱ ﯓ ﯔ ﯕ ﯖ ﯗ ﯘ ﯙ ﯚ ﯛ ﯜ ﯝ ﯞ ﯟ ﯠ Zachariah said, “My Lord! Grant me a sign.” He responded, “Your sign is that you will not ˹be able to˺ speak to people for three nights, despite being healthy.” — Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran [Zechariah] said, "My Lord, make for me a sign." He said, "Your sign is that you will not speak to the people for three nights, [being] sound."1 — Saheeh International So he came out to his people from the sanctuary, signalling to them to glorify ˹Allah˺ morning and evening. — Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran So he came out to his people from the prayer chamber and signaled to them to exalt [Allah] in the morning and afternoon. — Saheeh International
